About The Name

“Relax”

The opposite of stressing out is relaxing. Stress causes so many problems with our body and mind. Relaxing helps us achieve equilibrium and peace. While we do feel a little stress in our systems when we exercise, we can achieve more physical and mental gains when we relax our mind and body during the process.

“Lah”

I grew up in Singapore. We add “lah” to words or phrases to get a point across more firmly. So “Relax Lah” means just relax!

“Wellness”

My goal is to help you achieve more than just fitness and to reach for holistic all-around wellness. That means, we get to work together on how to overcome your obstacles to feeling fitter and stronger both mentally and physically.

About Me

My name is Cindy Leonard. I’m a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer (NASM-CPT) with plenty of experience in coaching and teaching. When I was a disability attorney at the Social Security Administration, I learned a lot about the various impairments that affect the general population. I also discovered that many conditions can be prevented with the right effort and strategies. Over time, I became more interested in the aging process, especially for women, and began studying how to adapt well to it instead of giving in or giving up.

While I love to work with people of all ages, my primary focus is on women who are going through perimenopause, menopause and beyond, as our bodies require a different type of support.

Turning 50, I found myself struggling with joint pain, back issues, and asthma. I also suffer from the occasional bouts of depression and anxiety. Worst of all, I seem to have a harder time losing the flab. People seldom talk about it, but these are all common symptoms of the perimenopause, menopause or even-post menopause stages in a woman’s life. In addition, I have two children (‘nuff said, right?). Thus, I truly understand how hard it is to find time to exercise and to take care of yourself while struggling with physical and mental or emotional challenges of getting older.

Having moved around the world a lot, I’ve picked up various adaptation and motivation techniques. But I discovered that people feel more excited about exercising and being active when they have someone to do it with them.

My goal is to become your personal cheerleader and exercise partner. Since I’m operating virtually, we can work out at any time that’s convenient for you, no matter where in the world you are located. (With some limitations of course, because I will be sleeping at some point, since that’s part of wellness too).

Here’s what you’ll get:

  • A customized a routine that’s just for you, bearing in mind your specific condition and goals.

  • Strength training, mobility, core, agility and balance/stability exercises.

  • Plenty of dancing for cardio endurance.

Let’s have fun growing older and wiser together!
